Ray Tigerman is a celebrated contemporary artist whose unique style and imagery have captivated viewers and collectors alike. A rising force in the Southwestern art scene, Ray's bold paintings and sculptures are an immersive experience with layers of texture-vibrant colors and imagery that evoke a sense of mystery, unity, and connection between the viewer and the subject(s).
Born in the high desert of Northern Nevada beneath the shadows of the imposing Sierra Nevada Mountains and a stone's throw away from The Washoe Tribe Reservation, Ray was exposed to the Southwest's beauty and culture from an early age. His great-grandmother was a member of the Oklahoma Choctaw Nation, which added to his earlier knowledge and appreciation of the Native American culture.
Ray's work is influenced by some of the genre's most notable artists, such as Earl Biss, Fritz Scholder, Georgia Okeefe, and Ed Mell. Ray earned a BFA in design from Watkins College of Art and Design before opening his first art gallery in Nashville, TN. In addition to art, music has always been central to Ray's passions. He is an accomplished musician/performer and often mixes both during gallery shows and events.
With this foundation, Ray has continued to use his imaginative eye for detail, composition, and abstract forms to create bold, unforgettable work that speaks to both the new and seasoned collector. His eclectic journey has allowed him to collect stories and experience various cultures that have helped shape his vibrant, textured works of art.
Today, Ray remains as authentic as ever: a creative soul on a mission to infuse art (in all its forms) into every corner of our lives, whether on a stage or behind an easel.
